BANGALORE: The Gujrat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, popularly known as Amul, released its first ever whey protein based milk additive ‘Amul Pro’ here on Tuesday.
Amul officials said that this health drink contains a combination of Docosahexaenoic acid or DHA, which is an Omega 3 fatty acid and over 27 other useful nutrients to help growing children.
The product has been launched in Karnataka for now, and it will be available in other parts of the country by the end of this month.

Speaking at the launch, R S Sodhi, Managing Director of Amul, said, “Amul has been a successful brand with a wide range of dairy products.
The milk additive category has a huge market and we wanted to launch a product in this category.” “Whey proteins help in muscle growth and are easily digestible.
The product does not compromise on the taste factor, as it tastes better than other malt beverages available in the market,” added Sodhi.
Amul Pro 500 grams glass jar is priced at `150 and the 500g refill pack is priced at `140.
