BANGALORE: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) held a seminar as part of Market Week celebrations in the city on Tuesday.

S Raman, Chairman and Managing Director of Canara Bank, Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director of Titan Industries Limited and Manjeet Singh, Executive Director, Bangalore Stock Exchange Limited inaugurated the seminar.

Addressing the gathering, Raman said, “Service should be the motto in conducting our business.

A relook into the capital market is a prerequisite in today’s time and with this attitude, we should get into our day-to-day activities which will help in boosting our economy.” Speaking on the occasion, C S Ananthasubramaniam, Vice-President of ICSI, explained, “The capital markets play a pivotal role in the development of economy.

The stronger the capital market, the better are the prospects of economic development.

Hence, a developed, dynamic and vibrant capital market immensely contributes to economic growth and development”.

This was an initiative aimed at the promotion of investors’ education and good governance in capital markets.
