BANGALORE: Three-year-old Mangala Gouri and 24-yearold Asha, who were injured in separate LPG cylinder explosions recently, succumbed to severe injuries on Tuesday.

Both incidents were reported at Rajgopalanagar Police station limits within a gap of a week.

One incident occurred on April 20 when Mangala’s family was celebrating her younger brother’s birthday.

An explosion due to leakage of LPG claimed the boy’s life and left five others including Mangala and her mother grievously injured at Hegganahalli in Srigandha Nagar.

According to the police, Mangala succumbed to injuries at around 3.30 am.

Mangala’s father Gangadhar 32, mother Usha, 24, her grandfather Ningappa, 55, and uncle Girish 22, are undergoing treatment at Victoria Hospital since five days.

In another similar incident that took place on April 14, Asha, who sustained severe injuries, succumbed in a private hospital on Tuesday morning.

Asha was one of the four injured in the LPG cylinder explosion that took place at their residence in Handrahalli.

According to the police, Asha died at around 8.30 am in a hospital, where she was undergoing treatment.
