Jnana Bharathi police have filed a charge-sheet against eight accused, who allegedly raped a law student on the Bangalore University campus.
Seven of the accused were arrested on October 19 while one is still at large.
The 240-page chargesheet filed in the 9th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court listed 49 witnesses, senior police officials, doctors and FSL officials.
Police said Rama, 21, Mallesh, 20, Maddura, 20, Doddaheeraiah, 19, Shivanna, 20, Eeraiah, 20, Yeliyaiah, 23 and Raja, who is still absconding had committed dacoity by assaulting the victim and her friend. They dragged her to an isolated spot and raped her. They later confessed to the crime. Inspector B Balaraju said the chargesheet was filed within 30 days of the incident.
On October 13, the victim and her friend were sitting in their car when the accused attacked them and gang-raped her.
