Police tighten security

Following the gang-rape of a woman in a moving bus in Delhi, the city police claim that they have taken necessary steps to avert any such incidents.

Speaking to Express, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) T Suneel Kumar, said, “All the DCPs in the city have been instructed to convene a meeting with owners of all private travels and transport agencies. We will collect the antecedents of all private bus and cab drivers as well. They will be instructed to take necessary security steps.”

“Further, we have increased patrolling in some areas. We have identified several areas where women passengers commute more during nights. In such areas Hoysala patrolling and other policemen will be doing rounds,” he added.
