Tenders to construct 11 Sewage Treatment Plants

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is in the process of allotting tenders to construct 11 Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) in the city at the cost of Rs 540 crore.

According to the BWSSB Chief Engineer, Narayana, the contracts of construction and installation of 11 STPs are being issued under Cauvery IV Stage II Phase drinking water project to treat the additional sewage that would be released after the project is fully commissioned. These STPs can collectively treat 339 MLD of sewage. With these 11 STPs the BWSSB will have a total of 31 STPs.
