BANGALORE: In December 2010, chairman of Vision Group on Nano Technology Prof C N R Rao had announced that the city would house India’s first Nano Science and Nano Technology Park (Nano Park), which was said to be completed by 2011. Sources close to Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST), one of the facilitators of the project along with IISc, have attributed the delay to the lack of technical expertise.

However, Principal Secretary for IT, BT and S&T M N Vidyashankar has refuted this claim. He told Express, “There is no dearth of technical expertise. We have an able technical team at work, which includes members from IISc and KSCST and other organisations. We have received 16 expressions of interest. Some of them are from US and Europe.”
