BANGALORE: A BMTC bus conductor and driver nabbed a software engineer who tried to escape with touch screen tablet that are installed in BMTC Volvo buses. The techie has been handed over to the police and is remanded in judicial custody.

The accused Sagar Reddy, 32, a native of Khammam district in Andhra Pradesh, is a resident of Chikkamaranahalli in Mathikere.

He is reportedly employed with a software firm in Global Village Tech Park on Mysore Road.

According to officials, Reddy had gone to attend an interview at a company in Bommanahalli on Tuesday. While returning, he boarded BMTC Volvo bus (route no. 356c) plying between Electronics City and Majestic. When all the passengers got down at Majestic, Mahantesh, the bus conductor, found the tablet missing, which was installed where Reddy was seated.    He immediately informed Anand Babu, the driver, and the duo checked Reddy’s bag. They found the tablet in his bag and handed him to police.
