BANGALORE: The Gandhinagar ward Councillor’s position which is  laying vacant for the past four months will get a new representative. Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will hold a by-election for the position on February 26. The position was lying vacant after  Gandhinagar ward (ward number 94) Councillor S Nataraj was hacked to death in the month of            October.

Now the residents of Gandhinagar will finally get to choose their representative on February 26. According to official  sources  in tbe Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, election notification will be issued on February 8.

“Candidates may file their nominations on February 15, which will be verified on February 16. The last date to withdraw the nominations is February 18,” the officials gave details. “The counting of votes will take place on February 29,” the BBMP officials told Express.
