BANGALORE: B G Nandakumar, a senior IAS officer was appointed as the new Additional Commissioner (Planning) of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Friday. A press release from BBMP stated that with Nandakumar’s appointment, BBMP Special Commissioner (Planning, Resource and Finance) K R Niranjan has been discharged from planning duty. With effect from Friday, Special Commissioner will look into the works of Chief Engineer (Vigilance), Joint Commissioner (Advertisement), Reforms and e-administration, Finance, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Deputy Commissioner (Properties), Forest conservator, Town Planning and other responsibilities.
The Additional Commissioner will get responsibility like Engineer in Chief, Chief Engineer (Roads), Chief Engineer( Storm water drain), Chief Engineer (Solid Waste management), JnNurm projects, Chief Engineer (Markets), all zonal additional and joint commissioner who are incharge of ward level works, land procurement, Chief Engineer (Electricity), 13th finance commission projects and others.
