BANGALORE: Educational Initiatives (EI) has introduced an online game building competition for college students titled ‘Desafio,’ in an attempt to explore online or offline games, applications and other interactive tools specially for the education sector.

Students participating in the competition will have to come up with original creations. The aim is to make students understand topics, subject concepts and skills.

A student need not be a coding geek to build online games or applications, but it is necessary to visualise a concept or a skill, stated a press release. The applications can be developed on concepts in subject such as Mathematics, Science, English and Social Studies.

The interactive tools can prove to be useful in helping children learn better by engaging them and minimising the learning gaps.

Teams will have to register themselves by February 28. Final version of the game and game supporting document will have to be uploaded on the Desafio website www.ei-india.com/ei-www/index.htm by March 5, 2012.

Students pursuing graduation or post graduation from any college can register as a team, with a maximum of three members in each team. Students forming the team need not be from the same college. There are no restrictions on the number of teams participating from each

college or institution.
