BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday adjourned a civil contempt petition filed against B Krishna Bhat, former chairman of Vishwa Bharathi House Building Cooperative Society Limited following alleged irregularities in the bulk allotment of sites.

Petitioner B Srinivasa Rao alleged that the seniority list of the members of the society had not been furnished to Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to undertake the bulk allotment of sites.

During the question and answer session before a  Division Bench comprising Justice D V Shylendra Kumar and Justice H S Kempanna, Bhat said that he was continuously falling ill from 2002 to 2009.

During that time, another person named Manjunath was in charge and he has done all the irregularities, he contended.

The judge later asked him how is it possible when all documents have his signatures. Bhat said he was under pressure to sign all the documents.

The Judge further asked did he file any complaint about this matter.

Bhat said he did not file any complaint.

Later, the division bench adjourned the matter to February 16.
