BANGALORE: A jewel merchant and a close relative of former Andhra Pradesh CM and Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah is missing from the city since Tuesday morning.
Manoj Kumar Grandhi (44), the Chairman and Managing Director of Vaibhav Empire Private Ltd in Dwarakanagar of Visakhapatnam, is the person missing. He is also the owner of Vaibhav Jewellery, a jewellery shop in Andhra Pradesh. He was in possession of gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 1 crore when he went missing, the police said.
“Grandhi had come to the city on Monday and he had visited a site near Byappanahalli Metro Station as he had plans to buy land there. Later, he purchased jewels worth about Rs 1 crore and went to ITC Royal Gardenia Hotel on Vittal Mallya Road. On Tuesday morning, he took a cab and left for the airport to go to Mumbai, from where he is missing,” the police explained.
