The prize distribution ceremony of the 38th edition of the Interschool Milad Essay competition was recently held on the premises of Jamalia Higher Secondary School, Perambur. More than 50 schools took part in the essay contest, which was launched in November . Several participants sent in their entries on the topic ‘Individual discipline in Islam’.
The judges, A Kalesha, Tamil teacher, Crescent, Vandalur and Hamida Rani, shortlisted the entries and selected the winners who were honoured at the ceremony. The first prize was bagged by J Sayed Ahmad, Annaikar Matriculation School, Choolai. Abiya Caroline, Columbu Sayed Mohammed Alim HSS, Dindigul.
A Shahul Hamid Basha, Muslim HSS, Tirunelveli and H Nathis, Islamic Model Matric school, Kanyakumari were placed second. Consolation prizes were awarded to V M Syed Miran, Muslim HSS, Tirunelveli and S Pandi, Muslim HSS, Sivakasi.
Chief guests Dr S K Khadri, founder president of Murthuzaviya Foundation, and A J Abdun Nayeem Fazil Jamali, professor Jamali Arabic College, presided over the event.
