BANGALORE: Hanumanthnagar police arrested a miscreant who allegedly used to steal cows from Bangalore and sold them in  Srirangapatna and Mysore. Police recovered 18 cattle heads worth around Rs 8 lakh. According to police, Manjunatha of Hanumanthnagar had lodged a complaint in December, 2011, that three cows were missing from his shed.

On January 17, cops arrested Ramesh alias Madegowda a resident of B M Road, Mysore. Based on his information, police seized 18 cattle heads, which he sold in and around Mysore.

With his arrest, ten cases filed in various police stations have been solved, the police said.

Woman, Baby’s Bodies Found in Lake

Police recovered the bodies of a woman and a child from Madiwala Lake on Thursday. On Thursday morning, fishermen found the decomposed body of a female floating on the water and informed the police. They fished out a woman’s body and a  corpse of two-year-old baby.

It is suspected that the duo might have committed suicide. The bodies are in the mortuary of Victoria Hospital. Madiwala police registered a case.
