BANGALORE: Deputy Chairperson of the state Legislative Council, Vimala Gowda, on Friday urged Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to involve women pioneers from various sectors in pre-budget meetings to ensure effective allocation of budget.

Speaking at the inauguration of  the Centre for Industrial Cooperatives of Producers and Artisans (CICOPA) Mela, she said, “The state budget will be announced in March. We have to ask whether the money allocated for women and co-operative sector is being utilised correctly. I have told the CM to hold meetings with women from various sectors.”

“It is a male-dominated society, and I know how difficult it is for women to be successful. The skills that these women have need to be recognised,” said Gowda.
