BANGALORE: Two life convicts lodged at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison died on Friday evening, the police said. The deceased have been identified as Beerangi Kemparajappa (67), a native of Chintamani in Chikkaballapur, and Tambaiah (71), a native of Sullia in Mangalore. Both were serving life imprisonment in separate murder cases.

The prison officials said that Kemparajappa was suffering from lung infection and he was admitted to Bowring Hospital some days ago. Despite treatment, he succumbed to the disease around 4.15 pm on Friday.

He was lodged in the prison from the last two years and three months. Meanwhile, Tambaiah, who was suffering from liver cancer, was transferred from Belgaum Central Prison for better treatment on February 2. Though he was sent to Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology for treatment, he developed complications in the evening.

He was rushed to Victoria Hospital, where he died after sometime, the officials  added.
