BANGALORE: A scrap yard owner allegedly assaulted an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police attached to Central traffic police station for towing away his scooter that was parked in a no-parking zone. The police arrested the man in connection with the incident.

Krishnappa (56) is the ASI who was assaulted and the accused has been identified as Aslam (34), a resident of Tipu Nagar. According to the police, Aslam had parked his Honda Active in a no parking area. Krishnappa, who was on rounds, came with a towing vehicle and seized his scooter.

Aslam told the ASI that he would pay the penalty but the ASI insisted that follows the procedure. Enaged, Aslam pulled Krishnappa assaulted and hurled filthy abuses at the cop and he was arrested, they said.
