The eighth annual    day function of the SBIOA Model Matriculation and Higher Secondary School was held on February 2 at the SBOA School and Junior College campus.

The correspondent, T P Chandrasekaran, welcomed the guests and the audience. Chief guest Dr Anand A Samuel, pro vice-chancellor of VIT University, Vellore, gave the annual day message. Principal Sophia Vijayarani read out the annual report. The treasurer of the SBIOA Educational Trust released the souvenir, which was followed by a special address by secretary and correspondent of the Trust D S Rishabdas.

The guests of honour distributed prizes to the school and subject toppers in the public exams held in March 2011. General proficiency prizes were also given to toppers from Classes 1 to     9 and 11. Headmistress Rajeswari Vasudevan proposed the vote of thanks.

The students gave a colourful cultural programme including performances by the school choir and school band, and dance numbers including a fan dance, Kashmiri, dandiya, western and fusion.
