The ninth annual sports festival of the SBIOA Model Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, Mogappair, was held on February 2 on the school premises.

Following the march past by the students of junior and senior classes, correspondent T P Chandrasekaran lighted the torch and principal Sophia Vijayarani welcomed the guests. Sudha Joshua, physical director, read out the annual report. Ebenezer Joseph, India’s first FIDE trainer and chief consultant of Emmanuel Chess Centre, Chennai, was the chief guest. He declared the meet open after his address.

A Krishnan, associate secretary and A Ravichandran, treasurer, SBIOA Educational Trust, and other guests of honour distributed prizes to the winners of the athletic events. Vice principal V V Anand proposed the vote of thanks.  

The event came to a conclusion with colourful dance performances by the primary and middle class students.
