BANGALORE: Shashikumar, a 24-year-old newspaper delivery boy riding pillion on a scooter Honda Dio, was killed after he was run over by a lorry near Hongasandra on Friday.  According to the police, Shashikumar and his roommate Ashwath, both residents of Hongasandra, were returning home from BTM layout after delivering newspapers. Shashidar died in the hospital, while his friend is said to be out of danger. The two friends were natives of  Tipatura, who stayed in the same room for five years. A case has been registered at Madiwala Traffic Police and efforts are on to nab the lorry driver who is absconding.

In another incident, a 30-year old pedestrian died after a car hit her at N G R Road near Central Silk Board. The victim, Krishnaveni, was a senior software engineer and a resident of Rupena Agrahara. The incident took place while she was trying to cross the road at 1.30 pm on Thursday. The police said Krishnaveni was  a native of Tamil Nadu and was staying in the city for six years. She was an employee of IBM, Bannerghatta Road branch. Reportedly, in the accident she died on the spot.
