BANGALORE: A 25-year-old woman, who had tried to end her life by setting herself ablaze following a quarrel with her husband, succumbed to injuries at Victoria Hospital on Thursday night. Priya, a resident of Maruti Seva Nagar near Banasawadi is the victim. She was married to Murali, a bartender.

The police said that Priya started suspecting her husband after he engaged in a prolonged telephonic conversation on Valentine’s Day. She had reportedly suspected her husband of having an affair with another woman. She objected to it but Murali told her that he would discuss the matter later. Despite this, Priya woke up at midnight and set herself ablaze after pouring kerosene. As she started screaming, Murali tried to save her and also sustained injuries. Priya was admitted to the hospital, where she succumbed on Thursday night. A case has been registered in Banasawadi police station and investigation is on in this regard.
