BANGALORE: Police inspector Prabhakar who shot and injured two robbers who were allegedly involved in a robbery in Mallleswaram, first fired a warning shot in the air, according to City Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji.

“The first bullet was fired in the air but since the robbers continued to attack the staff, four other bullets were shot at them. Two bullets struck Ramesh in his legs while  Murali sustained one bullet injury. However, the other three robbers fled in the dark. It is suspected that they were trying to rob the public near Skyline Apartment in  Hennur,” Mirji explained.

Police recovered valuables that the miscreants had robbed. Hennur police have registered a case and are on the lookout  for the other three accused. Besides Prabhakar, his jeep driver Ramesh, constables Madhukumar, Kenchappa and Ramesh Naik were injured in the attack.
