BANGALORE: The High Court on Wednesday directed the BBMP, the state government and the CBI to file objections in connection with a petition filed alleging large-scale misappropriation of funds in development works.

The petitioners alleged that, of the 10,109 total files, only 153 files related to three BBMP divisions - Gandhinagar, Rajarajeshwari and Malleswaram - were probed. The CID investigation revealed that was a `1,540 crore scam. In such a situation, all the 28 divisions of the BBMP should be probed, the petitioners contended.

Hearing the petition the division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna directed the BBMP, the state government and CBI to file objections and adjourned the matter for further hearing.
