BANGALORE: A 34-year-old man was killed in an attack following an argument that turned fatal at Shanthipura on Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as Papaiah.

The incident took place in Parappana Agrahara police station limits.

According to the police,  a heated argument broke out between Papaiah and rowdy-sheeter Ramesh around               10 pm. As the argument turned ugly, Ramesh and his associates attacked Papaiah with lethal weapons. In the melee, Papaiah was hacked to death. His accomplice Venkat Swamy, who was with him at the time of the attack, sustained injuries and was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the police suspect that government school land dispute could have led to the argument and the subsequent killing. The Parappana Agrahara police are yet to ascertain the details.
