BANGALORE: A 27-year woman was killed when a speeding BMTC bus rammed into the mobike in which she was riding pillion near Upparpet on Thursday.

The deceased Vijayakumari, was a resident of Hunakunte in Doddaballapura.

Vijayakumari was an employee of Idea Telecom at Malleswaram and her husband Jagdeesh was riding the two-wheeler.

Police said the couple were going to Malleswaram.

Sources said that the couple fell off the motorcycle when the BMTC bus rammed into their vehicle.

The bus ran over Vijayakumari, killing her on the spot.

Jagadeesh was also injured in the incident and is hospitalised, the police said.

Upparpet Traffic police have registered a case against the bus driver and are further investigating in this connection.
