BANGALORE: The Akshayanagar Residents’ and Site Owners’ Association organised a “Free Eye Check-up and Treatment Camp” on February 26 at Fullnfaws College, Akshayanagar. Desmon Fullfaws, the founder of the college inaugurated the camp.
‘Narayana Nethraalaya’ authorities provided the services of their Doctors and Technicians in addition to treatment, conduct of operations, etc; free of cost, except certain operations at concession rates. The spectacles were provided at a reduced cost. For the less privileged people, the organisers made arrangements to provide the required medicine, spectacles and operation expenses, if any, free of cost.
Free check-up for all eye related problems were available at the camp. Arrangements were also made to bring back the patients to Akshaynagar on the subsequent day. While spectacles were provided at concession rate, arrangements were made to provide the same free of cost to the poorest.
Those who intended to donate their eyes registered their names in the camp. The citizens of Akshaynagar, Yelenahalli and surrounding extensions availed the
benefits of this opportunity by turning out in large
numbers.
More than 400 people availed the facilities provided in the camp.
