Students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Chetpet, proved their mettle at various swimming  competitions held recently. A A Deepankar, a Class 7 student, won first prize in the State level swimming competition conducted by Pearl Unity Aquatic Club on January 20. He also bagged a gold and a silver medal in the under 14-category at the West Sahodaya Cluster Swimming Meet conducted by Maharishi International Residential School, Sriperumbudur, on February 4.

In the same category Class 8 students of MVM M Magesh, Ashok Raj and Subramani received silver medals in freestyle relay at the meet.

In the under-12 category V Yashwanth, a Class 5 student, won gold medal and his peer Shreesh Gireesan won bronze in the freestyle and backstroke relay.
