BANGALORE: On the occasion of 150th birthday celebrations of Swamy Vivekananada, the Bangalore University Yoga Centre organised a personality development camp at the Jnanabharathi campus. Over 107 students from affiliated PG/UG Colleges of Bangalore University participated in the event.

Professor Sannarama, Chairman, Centre for Kannada Studies at Kuvempu University, Shimoga who was chief guest, said, “Adopting wisdom and gaining mastery over real knowledge is personality development.”

He also gave examples of Swami Vivekananda, Buddha, Gandhiji and Ambedkar as ideals for their personality development.

Swamy Sharadatmananda, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Bangalore informed students to attain peace, happiness by following the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. He said, “Practice of bhakti yoga is essential for controlling our emotions.” Dr V Nagesh Bettakote, Director of Yoga Centre, Bangalore University who presided over the programme informed students to adopt the basic personality development skills taught at the Maharshi Aurobindo school.
