BANGALORE: The world welcomed 2012 with new hope, new ambition and new vision. While the previous year witnessed its eventfulness, rest assured, everything has evolved for the better, including trends in fashion, that the year has handed down gracefully to its successor. Some came with a bang while many others stayed silent; City Express finds out what was ‘in’ and what is ‘out’ in the last year and the year ahead. “I feel 2011 was more about bright colours and it had a happy mood to it,” says Delhi based fashion designer Arya John, who was recently in the city to launch her label, Eleven.Eleven. Meanwhile according to Bangalorean designer, Manoviraj Khosla there has been no drastic change in the trends. “The hemlines are still medium to long. Long flowy dresses were big last season and continue to be big in the coming season as well,” he informs. So don’t just ‘bin’ the maxis, as they are still very hot, he adds.

Like last year, the coming season will see a splash of bright colours with shades likes ocher, pinks and blues. Few designers opine that burnt orange is the colour for the coming season. So if you spot anything in the colour, from apparels to footwear to accessories, the advise by established designers; ‘blindly pick it up’.
