BANGALORE: To showcase the work of weavers from Tamil Nadu, Co-optex an apex organisation of government of Tamil Nadu  launched its new showroom at Malleswaram on Sunday. Inaugurating the showroom DG&IGP Shankar Bidari said “Co-optex has a history of more than 80 years. It delivers to the needs of the mass by offering its products at a reasonable price.”  Also speaking at the event Dr S Sundararaj, Minister for Handloom & Textiles, government of Tamil Nadu said, “Co-optex plans to open five more branches in Bangalore and is expecting a profit of more than `20 crore. Last year the organisation recorded a profit of `10 crore.” There are 200 outlets of Co-optex across the country, of which six are in Bangalore and eight in the state.
