BANGALORE: KPMG, in collaboration with NIIT Imperia announced the launch of three new taxation programmes in the city recently, that are,  certificate programme in tax regulations, advanced programme in tax regulations and diploma in tax regulations, primarily designed to meet the growing training needs of finance, accounting, taxation professionals and other stakeholders.  

These programmes will be offered in 30 NIIT Imperia centers spread across 21 major cities of the country in coming months. Admissions to the programmes are open, and the batches will start in the first week of February, 2012. KPMG’s senior professionals will use NIIT’s innovative synchronous learning technology to deliver training on the taxation programmes. The tax diploma programmes are designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice and to prepare the industry in advance for the proposed regulations of DTC and GST.   

Speaking on the occasion, Head of Tax, KPMG in India Uday Ved, said, “With India standing on the threshold of major tax reforms, there is an increased demand for knowledgeable and well-versed tax experts. KPMG in collaboration with NIIT Imperia aims to cater to this demand by helping create a pool of professionals who would be equipped to deal with legislative and practical aspects of taxation and also be prepared for the new tax .”

The emphasis of the customised taxation programmes is placed on technical competence and practical applications of the current tax and regulatory framework, including research and planning. Participants will also be exposed to all areas of taxation, including transfer pricing, domestic and international tax and various indirect taxes (such as Service tax, VAT, Customs etc).

Chief executive of NIIT Limited G Raghavan, said, “We are pleased to extend our offerings to now include three new programs on tax regulations by KPMG.These programs will provide an ideal platform to accounts and finance professionals who wish to gain unique insight in the field of taxation and move to the next levels in their career.”

The one and a half month certificate programme in tax regulations will enable participants to get a working knowledge of various tax laws and regulatory matters, while the one month advanced programme in tax regulations will focus on finer aspects, such as interpretation of law and analysis of key judicial pronouncements and emerging trends.  The two and a half month diploma in tax regulations will encompass both the above mentioned programmes. Participants will be presented certificates jointly by KPMG in India and NIIT imperia on successful completion of the programme.
