BANGALORE: The Executive Engineer of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), Syed Ahmed, was trapped by the Lokayukta police while he was allegedly receiving graft money of Rs 1 lakh from two contractors.
The police said that contractors Shanmugham and Shekhar had procured a KIADB tender of Rs5 lakh.
But, Syed Ahmed had demanded Rs 1 lakh bribe to approve their work. Following his demand, the duo approached the anti-corruption agency and filed a complaint against Ahmed. On Friday evening, the duo gave Rs 1 lakh bribe to Ahmed at the KIADB office on Nrupatunga Road and the police caught him red-handed.
Ahmed was arrested and was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act.
