BANGALORE: Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) State unit President Marasandra Muniyappa and his associates have been booked under attempt to murder and assault case by Hebbal police following a complaint against them. Complainant D Veeranna, a resident of Manorayanapalya,has alleged Muniyappa and his aides of trying to kill him.

What happened?

According to the police, complainant Veeranna’s nephew and Muniyappa had a property dispute and Veeranna was helping his nephew to get his property back.

On Friday evening, when Veeranna was at home, two persons came and told him that Muniyappa wanted to settle the dispute and he was waiting outside in a car. But Veerana refused to go and went out for a xerox shop.

When he was returning home, four persons allegedly attacked him with iron rods and hockey sticks.

The miscreants also warned him of dire consequences before speeding away in a car.Later, Veeranna was admitted to National Institute of Mental Health and Neurological Sciences (NIMHANS)  for treatment.  Hebbal police have registered a case in this regard. Further investigations are on, the police said.
