BANGALORE: Actress and professional Bharathanatyam dancer Shobana will perform Krishna, a musical piece at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall on January 28 at 6pm. Price of the tickets range from Rs 500 to Rs 3,000. Shobana and her crew will perform the creative musical for Vishranthi, a charitable trust for Senior Citizens based in Bangalore. Krishna is a dialogue drama where classical folk and film dance have been put together creatively for the production. It promises a canvas that extends from Vrindavan, through Mathura to Kurukshetra, where Shobana and her disciples intend to portray Lord Krishna – the man, his philosophy and why he is beyond mans understanding.

Shobana said, “It is an attempt to put across the moral values propagated by Lord Krishna and also highlight some of the lesser known stories including his role in Mahabharata. I am extremely happy to be performing the musical ‘Krishna’ in Bangalore for the first time and for a cause that is benefiting senior citizens.”

All proceeds from this performance will be donated to “Vishranthi, a charitable trust which is a unique home for seniors citizens in the city. This would directly benefit the senior citizens and orphans residing at Vishranthi.”
