BANGALORE: Releasing the New Year calendar brought out by Forest Guards and Watchers Association and pocket calendar of Forest Drivers Association on Thursday, Anil Kumble, Vice-Chairman, Karnataka Wildlife Board, said that he has put forward a proposal to the Revenue Department to grant hardship allowance for the Forest Guards and Watchers.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Keeping in view the quantity of work and the risk forest guards and watchers face, the Board had put forward a proposal to grant them hardship allowance of Rs 1,000 extra.”
AK Verma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, appreciated the work of Forest Guards and Watchers. “We have put forward a proposal to the State Government to introduce reward system for best Forest Guards, Watchers, Drivers and nurseries,” he added. This is for the second time the Association has come up with the calendar.
