Thousand flock for Annual Feast of Infant Jesus

BANGALORE: The annual feast of Infant Jesus was celebrated on Saturday in the city. Celebrations were at its peak and Infant Jesus Shrine in Viveknagar yet again rose to a festive look.

BANGALORE: The annual feast of Infant Jesus was celebrated on Saturday in the city. Celebrations were at its peak and Infant Jesus Shrine in Viveknagar yet again rose to a festive look.

Devotees from all communities came to witness the blessings of miraculous infant Jesus. “This is the 41st annual feast day of the shrine. Devotion of Infant Jesus at Viveknagar has become widespread and the shrine attracts thousand of devotees,” said, Fr Balraj R Parish Priest, Infant Jesus Church.  Flagging off the car rally to mark the occasion, Bangalore City Police Commissioner, Jyothi Prakash Mirji, appreciated the work towards the poor carried on by the Infant Jesus Shrine. At the venue, Shaila, a middle-aged woman said,  “It was almost three years of my marriage and I was not able to conceive. It was only after I offered prayers here at Infant Jesus Shrine that I got a lovely daughter.”

 “During the feast this time we had people from Srilanka, Indonesia and Canada as well,” said a volunteer.
