BANGALORE: Around 24 huts located on the Outer Ring Road near Hebbal fly-over were gutted after an accidental fire broke out in the area on Monday afternoon.

However, no casualties were reported as no one was inside the huts when the fire broke out.

According to Fire Department officials, the fire broke out around 2 pm in one of the huts and it spread to other huts.

There were 54 huts in the area and construction workers lived there.

Reportedly, all had gone to their native places for Sankranti festival.

It is suspected that the fire broke out after some one threw a cigarette butt near a hut.

Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

Amruthahalli police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating the exact cause for the fire.
