BANGALORE: Announcing change in the name of the Institute of Cost and Work Accountants of India (ICWAI) to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICA), BR Prabhakar of ICWAI, at a press conference on Thursday, stated that the South  India Regional Cost Convention will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily in the city on Friday.

“Around 500 delegates are expected to participate and the theme this year will be ‘Dynamics of India’s Economy’, CMA as a catalyst,” said Prabhakar.

Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of ICWAI,  announced that members of the institute will now be able to use the suffix of ACMA or AFMA which are internationally recognised titles for accountants.  The convention will be held at the Hotel Capitol on Raj Bhavan Road on the  January 20 and 21 and will seek to chalk out a road map for accountants.
