MYSORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said there was no interference from former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in the running of the government.

Denying that by holding parallel meetings Yeddyurappa has emerged an extra-constitutional force in the state, he said the former CM is cooperating and not meddling in the functioning of the government.

The Chief Minister was in Suttur village to take part in the JSS Mutt jathra and mass marriage on Friday.

He said everyone wants the Chief Minister and senior leaders to visit their constituencies and inaugurate development work. When asked if the party high command and RSS leaders had directed the state leaders to tour unitedly, he said senior leaders had sorted out the differences within the party, barring a few minor issues.

“We have started the exercise for the ensuing Budget by convening departmental meetings and directing officials to achieve the target by the financial year-end,” he said. He refuted allegations that not much progress has been achieved in various departments.

Keen to present a separate agriculture budget, he said the quantum will be decided on the mobilisation of resources and other factors.

He also hinted at a new youth policy and funds for youths who comprise 43 per cent of the state population.
