BANGALORE: In separate incidents, an engineering graduate and a rowdy sheeter were hacked to death. Mahesh, 34, a resident of Vijayanagar, was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants near the railway track at Pipeline in Netaji Nagar on Thursday. He was working at a private firm in Royan Circle near Chamarajapet.

The police said that while Mahesh was crossing the railway track, unidentified miscreants attacked him and stabbed him on his thighs, hands and other parts.

Some passersby noticed him and informed the police. But, he succumbed to injuries while being shifted to a nearby hospital. The reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained. City Railway police registered a case and have launched search operations to nab the assailants.

In other incident reported in Bannerghatta police station limits on Friday evening, Satish, 35, a history-sheeter of Adugodi police station, was brutally hacked to death by unidentified assailants near a petrol bunk on Sampige Nagar main road on the outskirts of the city.

The police said that Satish was arrested in connection with a murder case of rowdy Bande Naga of Adugodi and was in Central prison.

He was released about ten days back, and on Friday evening, he had gone to Sampige Nagar. While he was standing near the petrol bunk, unidentified assailants reportedly hacked him to with lethal weapons before fleeing the scene.

Two held in murder case

Bangalore: The Mahadevapura police arrested two persons in connection with a murder case. The accused have been identified as Arun Kumar alias Mani, 25, and his brother Satish Kumar alias Satish, 19, both residents of B Narayanapura and natives of Bangarapet in KGF.

They are alleged of murdering one, Manjunath, near the construction site of Skylark Mansion apartment in Hoodi, on January 11. The police said that the victim and Mani were labourers. On January 11, the duo quarrelled over an issue and Mani reportedly asked Satish to come the construction site. Satish prompted Mani to kill Manjunath and gave a dagger to his brother. Mani stabbed Manjunath and murdered him.
