BANGALORE: Criketer Anil Kumble’s wife Chetana has replied and given explanation to the show-cause notice issued by the Regional Passport Office (RPO) following a complaint filed by her former husband Kumar V Jahgirdar in connection with an alleged forgery case against Kumble.
The RPO has forwarded the case details along with her explanation to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for further action.
Jahgirdar, who had filed a criminal case against Kumble with Bharathinagar police alleging him of impersonating him (Jahgirdar) and signing the passport application of his minor daughter in April 2011, had also filed a petition with the RPO on January 10. Following the petition, the RPO had issued notice to Chetana, who is the passport applicant. Now the RPO has forwarded a detailed report of the case including her response to the Ministry of External Affairs for instructions for future course of action.
Jahgirdar had also requested RPO to impound Kumble’s passport as impersonation is a serious violation of Passport Act.
