Cops bust prostitution rackets in Bangalore

BANGALORE: The Koramangala police busted a prostitution racket that was allegedly being run in an apartment in Koramangala III Block on Thursday. Three persons including a woman were arrested in this connection. The accused have been identified as Margaret, 38, Arun, 34 and Kalagnana Durai, 30. Reportedly, Margaret took advantage of young girls who were in dire need of job and forced them into prostitution.

According to sources, she used to lock them up at her residence in Kurburahalli. Arun and Kalagnana Durai were pimps, involved in the racket. Margaret charged up to Rs 25,000. The victims have been identified as natives of Kolkata, Mumbai and Nagarbhavi in Bangalore. “Acting on a tip-off, we raided the place on Wednesday and arrested Arun and Durai. Maragaret, who had absconded, was arrested on Thursday. We are in search of other accused Rahul and Mohanty,”  police said.

In another incident, the Cottonpet police carried out raids on Thursday night and  busted a prostitution racked in their station limits. They raided Apsara Lodge and arrested four persons including the lodge manager.
