BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday cancelled the proposed construction of bungalows for High Court judges on a play ground in HSR Layout and directed the state to look for alternative place for the construction.
Petitioners, HSR Layout Residential Association, had filed a Public Interest Litigation before the court stating that, the government was planning to build 25 bungalows for judges on a playground in HSR Layout and this is against the Supreme Court order that one cannot build anything on civic amenity sites.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramjit Sen and Justice BV Nagarathna directed the state government to look for an alternative place to build the bungalows within seven days and adjourned the petition.
