BANGALORE: Karnataka State Minority Commission Chairman Anwar Manippady on Monday said that state government has kept a few officials attached to Wakf Board under suspension                 on the charges of encroachment,misuse and illegal sale of Wakf properties across the State.

Addressing a news conference here, he said, “The officials of Wakf  Board did not take action on the officials who were said to be involved in irregularities. The meetings conducted by them was nothing but an eyewash.The Government has also suspended 6 persons of a Muslim Orphanage at Dickenson Road, Bangalore, which is a Wakf Instituition, for their alleged inaction in dealing with immoral activities.”

He said the report was submitted after he received complaints about ill treatment of inmates, rowdyism and homo-sexual involvement of a few senior inmates of orphanage . The government has ordered to change the present administrator of the orphanage.
