BANGALORE: A person wanted in connection with a dacoity case was arrested after firing at him at H S R Layout in the city. The Bidadi police were looking for the accused, Bhaskar alias Prabhakar Reddy. The police who came to know about the whereabouts of Bhaskar laid a trap to arrest him. At about 3.30 pm, they saw Bhaskar going in a car at 27th Main Road, 2nd Sector, H S R Layout.
When the police asked him to stop the car, Bhaskar did not stop the vehicle but tried to runover the policemen. He also attacked a policeman and tried to flee. The police fired from the service revolver and the bullet reportedly hit the right shoulder of the accused.
The accused was immediately shifted to a private hospital. H S R Layout Police have registered a case.
Held for Illegal Sale of Kerosene: CCB Sleuths have arrested a 28-year-old man on charges of selling kerosene meant for public distribution through fair price shops. The accused has been identified as Abdul Majid alias Khadar, a resident of Channakeshavanagar, Hosa Road, Electronic City and a native of Kerala.
Candidate Attacked: With the BBMP Cooperative Society elections round the corner, B R Muralidhar, one of the candidates was allegedly attacked by miscreants here on Wednesday. The election is scheduled to be held on March 11. B R Muralidhar, Rajanna, Subramani, and a total of 40 candidates are said to be contesting in the elections.
