BANGALORE: A 30-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by throwing himself before a moving passenger train at Malleswaram on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Gundappa, a resident of Basaveshwaranagar. The incident took place around 9.30 am. He was depressed in life and suffering from an illness, which forced him to take the extreme step, police said.

In a similar incident, a 28-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by throwing himself before a moving train at NICE Road bridge in Kengeri railway station limits on Sunday night.

The incident came to light on Monday morning when a passerby, found the body near the railway track and informed the police. The deceased has been identified as Puneeth, a resident of Doddabasthi.

The incident took place around 8 pm on Sunday. Puneeth took this extreme step because he was dejected in life. He was a daily wage employee in a cement factory and was staying with his family in Dodaabasthi, police said.
