BANGALORE: Suchitra Film Society, in collaboration with the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, Department of Information, Government of Karnataka, and Bangalore International Centre, has organised the 17th European Union Film Festival from March 16 to 22 (From 6 pm onwards), at the Sulochana Auditorium, Infantry Road.

Actress Arundhathi Nag and Commissioner of the Department I M Vittala Murthy will be the  chief guests of the inaugural programme. Ambassador of Sweden to India Lars Olof Lindgren will also be present. The Swedish Drama ‘Dear Alice’(2010) will be screened on the first day. Speaking to the media, N Shashidhara, member of Suchitra Film Society said, “The theme of the festival is ‘Europe in Love’. Narrating many engaging stories, the festival will offer the viewers a heady cocktail of cultural uniqueness that Europe is known for”.

“Starting from Delhi on March 14, the festival will travel to six other cities. This magnificent selection of 25 films, each from a different EU member State, manifests the European unity and diversity,” he asserted.
