New gadget to suck out dried leaves

BANGALORE: After being criticised on its incapabilities  the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to pull up its socks. Taking cue from BBMP commissioner Shankarlinge Gowda, who issued orders to complete all the under-construction works in city soon,  Deputy Mayor S Harish has proposed to introduce leaf sucking machines within the city limits.

“BBMP has been receiving several complaints  from the public about fire incident. Fire is triggered due to withered leaves, and to avoid any sort of fire tragedy, BBMP has purchased leaf sucking machines. These machines will clear the dead leaves. After collecting it, the leaves will be channelised into  organic farming sector,” Harish said. Palike has introduced these machine at the cost of `20 lakh each.
