BANGALORE: The second edition of the Best of India Jewellery Show (BIJS) 2012, a jewellery exhibition, which is a joint initiative of The Art of Jewellery and the Jewellers’ Association Bengaluru, is all set to launch in April with Raveena Tandon, as its brand ambassador. BIJS 2012, will be held from April 6 to 9 at Palace Grounds.

On display will be an array of exquisite daily wear and designer jewellery, from leading jewellery retailers of South India, promising a whole new shopping experience for discerning customers. Like last year, this time too the show will be held at the very beginning of the jewellerybuying season starting with Akshay Tritiya and followed by the wedding months.

“The timing is just right with the wedding season on its way. The exhibition will provide a host of options for the consumer. We will also be holding free seminars about diamonds. Adding to that each ticket will have value tips for maintaining jewellery,” said Sumesh Wadhera, Co-Chairman of The Art of Jewellery. Speaking about options for the consumer, Wadhera also mentioned that the jewellery trends have changed a lot over the years.

“Gone are the days when heavy jewellery was the order of the day. These days its all about light weight collections. Something that is easy to wear,” he informed. Adding to that Wadhera also says, “We are delighted to have signed the Bollywood star Raveena Tandon as the brand ambassador for BIJS 2012 and her popularity will surely ensure high footfalls. Our multi-pronged promotional campaigns are meticulously planned and well executed to excite the consumers and create awareness” said Sumesh Wadhera, MD and Publisher of The Art of Jewellery.

The Bollywood star who was recently in town for the announcement of the exhibition says that BIJS 2012 brings in the promise of the best jewellery collections from across India to its consumers. “I am so excited to be a harbinger of this promise. I think it is a very noble idea to have the best of the best collections exhibited all under one roof,” said the actress.
